The excavated earth from the hole of section II was filled in sandbags and stacked in the atelier in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Through a pair of binoculars you could watch the outside world, or the “enemy”. It is interesting to observe how scary something that is supposed to stand for safety can become.

Der Aushub aus dem Baggerloch von Abteilung II wurde in Sandsäcke gefüllt und im Klassenzimmer vor die deckenhohen Fenster gestapelt.
Durch ein Fernglas konnte man die Aussenwelt, oder den “Feind” beobachten. Interessant ist dabei zu sehen, wie beängstigend etwas wirken kann, das eigentlich für Sicherheit stehen soll.
